Usability is a quality attribute that assesses how easy user interfaces are to use.
It refers to methods for improving case-of-use during the design process.
BUT IS NOT ONLY EASE OF USE
Usability, is mone than that Jakob explains that Usability defined by 5 components:
- Effectiveness
- Efficiency
- Engagement
- Error tolerence
- Ease of learning
Effectiveness
Enable users to achieve their goals with high level of accuracy.
Efficiency
How quickly, and smooth a user can accomplish a goal.
Engagement
For a product to be usable it should be engaging and aesthetically pleasing.
Usability is a major part in User Experience
Its one of the main components in the UX honeycomb
To achieve Usability make sure to answer these questions:
- Does design do the right thing
- Does it get things done?
- Does it do it with the minimum effert?
- How much learning requird to acomplish?
- Does it make you feel good?
- Do you feel happy using the design
